50% bursary on all course fees for degree level courses starting in January

Kendal College is offering a 50% bursary on its Foundation Degrees in Computing, Business and Management and Complementary Therapies starting in January 2010, meaning student will get back 50% of course fees for the entire duration of the course.

All three Foundation Degrees would normally cost £1040 per year but, when the bursary is paid, it will effectively only cost students £520 per year. This offer applies for all three years of the programme, meaning that you can gain a full Foundation Degree within three years for a total cost of only £1560!

Foundation Degrees are a new style of HE qualification that enable students to gain a degree level programme that they can top up to a full honours degree with a final year at the University of Cumbria. If you have A levels or a
level 3 qualification such as a BTEC National Diploma or NVQ, then a Foundation Degree is a good option for you, giving you the opportunity to improve your skills, understanding and knowledge in line with employers’ needs. All three of these Foundation Degrees are available part time, which usually means one evening of taught study per week, allowing you to maintain any work and family commitments you may have.

Business and Management
This Foundation Degree course develops the business, quantitative and personal skills necessary for an effective contribution to modern business organisations, with modules available to meet specific industry needs, such as tourism and hospitality, environmental management, retail and salon management.

This course offers an opportunity to study the design of effective software systems for industry and commerce. You will develop a thorough understanding of computing and learn how to design effective IT systems for industry and commerce, to meet the constantly evolving needs of users.

Complementary Therapies
This is an innovative degree designed to provide recognisable academic and professional qualifications for people interested in pursuing a career in complementary therapy within the community or health care sector. It also provides an opportunity for already qualified complementary therapy practitioners to gain academic credibility and enhance their skills and approaches.
