
Creative Arts Summer Exhibition

For all students involved it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all their hard work throughout the year and a chance to demonstrate the broad range of specialist skills our students have.
The work exhibited was of a very high standard and included interior design, fashion, graphics, photography, textiles, illustration, animation, drawing, painting and digital media.
A selection of the work from all courses has been selected for the 'Future Creatives' exhibition which is currently on throughout summer at Kendal Museum.
Students exhibiting their work were:
- Harriet Commander - contemporary painting using stencils and spray paints
- Adrian Wood - Inspired by victorian taxidermy Adrian merged animals to produce some interesting concepts
- Jess Pickering - Advertisement Photography, creating an advertising concept for Absolut Vodka
- Alice Serginson - Advertisement Photography, creating an advertising campaign for Ipod
- Hollie Dent - Photojouranlism, Hollie explored the journey between Cumbria and London where she is progressing to University
- Hayley Milliard - Fashion Photography exploring the dark side of the industry
- Sarah George - Graphic Design, Sarah produced a range of page designs for a fashion magazine concept
- Rachelle Bell - Graphic Design, Rachelle produced a range of page designs for a fashion magazine concept
- Rosie Stelfox - Rosie produced an optical art piece inspired by Bridget Riley
- Poppy Gledhill - Illustration, Poppy produced an illustartion for William Shakspears A Midsummers Night Dream
- Elliot Forsgardh - Elliot explored portrait and facial expressions within his paintings
- Tom Pinkney - produced an animation inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the work of Tim Burton
- Matt Hayton - Installation piece exploring the myth of gremlins Rachael Callaghan - Produced a Skirt inspired by London culture and The Clash, London's Calling Sam Beattie - Explored photography, projection and psycodelic art Alison Owen - Studio photography project developed around the theme of Cluedo and Miss Scarlet
- Kathleen Jelley - Fashion styling, Kathleen produced an outfit inspired by 80's Punk Rock Laura Smith - Graphic design producing a movie poster for George A Romero
- Dan Bond - Dan has produced a range of digital paintings for alternative theme, exploring the use of the new media.
- Ethan McKinley Rooke - Ethan has produced a futuristic landscape using graphic tabs to create a digital painting
- Mel Burke - Mel has produced a range of photographs within the theme of fashion photography
- Martin Stelfox - Within Martins installations he used model making & photography to communicate 'Pan is alive'
- Helen Isaac - Helen produced an interactive photograph of Kendal Castle. Exploring all aspects of photography within her work.
- Lana Johnson - Lana produced an installation to visually communicate the true impact of the corporation
- Mary Page - Mary produced a costume design for a music artist inspired by the lyrics of the song
- Helena Simpson - Helena produced a Textiles installation inspired by organic forms, using felt
- Sally Proctor - Sally explored paint medium and organic forms in great detail to produce a visually stimulating painting
- Laura Beltram - Laura produced a very detailed costume design inspired by Heaven & Hell
- David Martindale - David produced a range of pages for a Graphic Novel using his own storey
- Kayleigh Richardson - Kayleigh explored paints in great detail and produced a piece inspired by her interest in nature and inparticular waterfalls
- Danielle Blakey - Danielle produced a print piece exploring the relationship between colours and emotions
- James Morris - James produced a photography project documenting and expanding upon the theme of litter within our environment
Kendal College has an excellent reputation for its art and design provision, with many students progressing nationally to some of the finest art and design degree programmes, as well as its own Foundation Degree course in Drawing; a two year course which can be 'topped up' to a BA (Hons) with a final year at the University of Cumbria.
