22 May 2009

Over 200 students have completed Higher Education programmes at Kendal College this year in subjects as diverse as social work, hospitality excellence, business and management, childhood studies, holistic therapies, health and social care and teacher education. The dinner gave students and lecturers the opportunity to relax after an intense year of study.

Principal of Kendal College, Graham Wilkinson said: "Our Higher Education programmes are one of the college's key areas for growth, with more and more people looking to gain degree level qualifications whilst continuing to work full or part time, or maintain family commitments.

The majority of the 14 Higher Education programmes offered at Kendal College are Foundation Degrees. These programmes, which are offered in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire and the University of Cumbria, enable students to gain a university level qualification within two or three years. This can then be 'topped up' to a full honours degree with a final year at either the University of Central Lancashire or the University of Cumbria campuses.
