The gallery, brainchild of Barry Willis, lecturer in art and design approached the firm last September to sponsor the project, and the completed project was unveiled by the Mayor of Kendal, Coun Clare Feeney-Johnson.
Coun Feeney-Johnson said: “I believe that the young people in our town are very creative and talented and one of my aspirations as Mayor is to give them a platform to celebrate their talent. The unique gallery is most welcome.”
Kendal College offers a wide range of art and design programmes at all levels, including the new Foundation Degree in Drawing which can be topped up to a full honours degree with a final year at the University of Cumbria.
Students on the National Diploma in Art and Design and the Foundation Studies in Art and Design programmes enjoy excellent progression and go on to some of the most prestigious art and design degree programmes in the country.
