Music

The Music Department at Kendal College has developed an excellent reputation over the last ten years through developing students' skills across the areas of Music Performance and Composition, Studio Sound Recording, Live Sound Engineering and Music Business. Kendal College's music students have developed a reputation with universities for being some of the best prepared for Higher Education and employment.

The College's recording studio is equipped to professional standards with equipment including a Midas 32 channel console, Mac Based Protools, and extensive outboard equipment, and as such is the best equipped facility this side of Manchester. The development of the department including its technical resources, are attributable to the experience and expertise of our lecturing team who have diverse professional backgrounds from the music industry.

Our Creative Apprenticeships will give you the opportunity to earn a wage whilst gaining nationally recognised qualifications.

Why study at Kendal College?

Music rehearsal booths enable bands to perform and compose using professional standard equipment; regular public performances take place at a range of local venues and have become a legendary part of the region's music scene! The music department has recently enjoyed extensive funding which has led to our state of the art resources to be even more enhanced. This includes a new, purpose-built, in-house venue, the installation of a new Yamaha M7CL digital Live desk concert PA system and a host of brand new Mac pro computers in our postproduction suite. We are proud that our music department is now one of the best resourced teaching centres in the UK for Level 3 courses.
