Information Technology

Our IT section has a reputation for delivering high quality programmes that can lead to an exciting and diverse career.

Jobs in this sector include; help-desk operators, support operators, technicians/engineers, programmers, network managers, systems analysts and specialists in areas, such as sales and training. Roles such as webmasters, security specialists, digital content creators and games developers are emerging all of the time and our module content tries to reflect the constantly changing career paths that are open to our students.

Why study at Kendal College?

Our IT suites feature the latest hardware and software and our entire network was upgraded in August 2011 to include Windows 7 on all computers and the latest server technology. Our dedicated team of tutors, each with specialist knowledge, are experienced teachers who can offer you a great opportunity to forge a career in this dynamic discipline.

In recent years, students have taken part in live projects for the college's enterprise competition. One project involved creating a security database for Booths Supermarket. To meet our responsibility to support the local community, students have also helped to provide IT training to users of Kendal library. We have also provided our students with the opportunity to visit several universities, such as Newcastle and Manchester.
