Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care

If you are interested in the well being of others then a career in health and social care could be for you. There is a huge array of jobs in the health and social care sector, suitable for people with a variety of skills and qualities in the specialist activities of nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and the fields of dentistry, optometry, occupational therapy, chiropody, homeopathy, chiropractics etc.

The College's department of Health and Social Care, judged Grade 1 by Ofsted, enjoys an excellent reputation and maintains strong links with local care industries, health providers and children's centres in the area. Many of our past students have started at level 2 and have continued to degree level at Kendal College.

There are many other health jobs too. Examples include speech therapists, scientists, radiographers, auxiliaries, health care assistants, ambulance drivers and dental nurses. Almost one in ten people employed in the North West work in health-related occupations.

All of our staff have extensive experience within the sector, and the college maintains close links with industry such as NHS hospitals, private and specialised hospitals, mental health trusts, nursing and care homes and rehabilitation centres.
