Engineering

Engineering underpins just about everything from transport to medicine and farming to space exploration. To meet all of these needs requires a vast number engineers who can work in technical disciplines. The career opportunities are endless.
Engineering is about using creativity and innovation, based on a good technical background, to solve challenges that make our world a better place, whether it is maintaining existing technical systems, or designing new ones.
With environmental technologies being at the forefront of the new green economy, there are hundreds of jobs expected to be created in the next few years, both nationally and locally, which require people with the skills to support the aeronautical, creative, digital, food, farming, marine, mining and tourism related industries.
Following the £12.9 million new build in 2008, Kendal College is now investing in new engineering facilities and will be at the forefront of engineering and design education in South Lakeland and Eden. Our new courses will meet the needs of local and national employment and will give students the skills and knowledge they require to be successful in the engineering sector.
The college will also be offering the new Diplomas in association with its partners in South Lakeland.
