Sport and Outdoor Adventure

As you would expect, our Sports & Outdoor courses have an excellent mix of vocational and academic study. Students will learn the theory in the classroom and then be expected to demonstrate their learning by carrying out a range of practical activities and assessments. The courses all offer a great insight into a broad range of sporting activities, including visits to Clubs and Centres (including overseas visits) and incorporating teaching from industry professionals. Students will finish the courses with a real grasp of the sports industry and will be able to plan, develop, and run training sessions with a range of individuals.

“I came to Kendal College as I didn’t like the style of teaching at Sixth Form and, despite being initially unsure whether it was going to be for me, now it’s changed and it’s great. I’m studying towards a Level 3 Diploma in Sport Development, Coaching and Fitness as I’ve always played sports and want a career in sports. After finishing college, I intend to take a working gap year to complete a ski season and then progress to university to study sports science. The course has opened up some good opportunities and there’s been a wide range of activities to do and facilities to use; from lessons with golf and cricket pros to work experience at Chill Factore in Manchester where I learned to ski and snowboard. Overseas trips to try sports in both hot and cold environments have been great including a visit to Lanzarote and a ski trip to Italy.”
