Kendal College's Motor Vehicle Workshop is run by an experienced team of motor vehicle experts with a vast amount of industry experience and knowledge. The workshop has received a considerable amount of investment to create a well-equiped training facility, with access to industry standard tools and equipment.
The College has invested in a high-tech Design Engineering Centre, which features similar equipment to engineering firms such as Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon Limited, including computer controlled milling machines, lathes and a 3D printer, which prints engineering prototypes out as solid plastic models directly from CAD drawings and the College is planning a £1.98 million new engineering build, to provide state of the art facilities to support South Lakeland’s high tech engineering industry.
All departments have good links with industry and the teaching staff all have comprehensive industry backgrounds, and considerable investment ensures that the facilities are of a professional standard and that students have a varied introduction to the world of engineering. The engineering facilities at Kendal College put it at the very forefront of technology and engineering training in South Lakeland and Eden.
