Hello, and welcome to our website!

Just a heads-up, we're close to rolling out a shiny new website and we've had to make some changes which may affect the way our current course information is displayed. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Access to Higher Education

Our Access to Higher Education Level 3 programmes are for adults who want to progress onto higher education degree level courses, but do not have the necessary qualifications. Our courses are specifically designed for adults aged 19+ returning to study, either after a break or as part of a career change, and they offer a proven and successful route onto University study. These programmes can be developed to meet your needs and will build confidence in subject specialist knowledge and study skills to provide entry into a range of college and universities. This year, Access students have been accepted on to full-time degrees like Marine Biology, Physics, Physics & Astronomy and Radiotherapy.

Why study at Kendal College?

Quite simply, Kendal College has recently been rated as one of the top Colleges in the country by FE Weekly and student success rates are consistently amongst the top 10. So why wouldn’t you want to study with us?

We have an excellent track record of students achieving their first choice university and our students are fully prepared and know exactly what to expect from university life upon leaving the College. Facilities at Kendal College are industry standard with state-of-the-art equipment to provide practical experience, combined with teachers who are the industry experts in their field delivering high quality academic tuition.

We are also very fortunate to be located in the Cumbrian town of Kendal - one of the most picturesque and historical towns in England and on the edge of the Lake District National Park - the Adventure Capital of the UK!

Advanced Learner Loans

It’s also important to note that you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost. The loan is easy to apply for, doesn’t involve a credit check and you don’t have to pay it back until you’ve finished your course and are earning over £21,000 a year.

If you are completing an Access programme, Student Finance England will ‘write off’ your loan once you complete a higher education course. This means you don’t have to repay it!
