A Levels

A Level or ‘Advanced Level’ is one of the next grades of qualification after GCSE level and is typically studied over a two-year period. Throughout the UK, A Levels remain the preferred choice of students when they finish their GCSE’s and are recognised by UK universities when assessing a student’s eligibility for degree level study.

A Levels @ Kendal College

At Kendal College, A Levels can be combined with vocational courses or up to four subjects can be studied on a standalone basis. Following the reintroduction of a selection of A Levels to the curriculum in 2015, we are now building on our success by expanding the range of subjects. Many of our students have found the combination of adding an A Level to their existing vocational course to be a winning one, and now there will be even more choice available to new and existing students. Our learning environment is modern and offers a welcome alternative to Sixth Form in which to study A Levels. Our courses are led by highly experienced teachers with valuable vocational experience to give you that extra practical advantage for progressing into employment or onto higher level study. We have an excellent track record of students securing places at the University of their choice, including Lancaster, Durham, Leeds, RADA, St. Martin’s and York University.

"I didn’t have a good time at my former Sixth Form College, but Kendal College is a lot better. The teaching style is really effective and I love the Flexibility, facilities and expertise at the College. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular activities and go on trips, and I’m hoping to study a Law related course at university to pursue a career in either Law or Politics."
