Cultural heritage is about the physical objects related to groups or societies, that are maintained for the benefit of present and future generations.
Cumbria has a rich tapestry of heritage, with the recent find of the Crosby Garrett Roman Helmet, the most significant of its type found in England for over a hundred years, being found in Eden.
Kendal College manages Kendal Museum as part of a ten-year partnership agreement with the local council.The College is committed to developing the educational opportunities for museum curatorship and cultural heritage by introducing vocational courses that enable people working in heritage venues to progress their careers through the College rather than a traditional academic route.
Cultural Heritage Courses
* Denotes a YPLA funded course and is free to 16-18 year olds. Over 19s may qualify for free tuition when in receipt of JSA or ESA benefits (excludes part time art, design & media, Indian head, Swedish massage and spa treatment courses).
** You will not have to pay tuition fees if this is your first full level 2 programme (5 A*-C GCSE or equivalent) .
*** You will not have to pay any tuition fees if this is your first full level 3 programme (2 A levels) and are aged 19-25 or if over 25 and do not already have a full Level 2 qualification.
**** You will not have to pay any tuition fees if you do not already have a full Level 2 qualification or above and are intending to progress to a full Level 2 qualification.
*Reg fee refers to any registration, examination, assessment or any other fee related to awarding body.
This fee must be paid at the time of enrolment.
