Craft and Construction

Construction companies make up 10% of all businesses in Cumbria and, according to research undertaken by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board), 76% of all employers have difficulty in recruiting trained staff. The college enjoys strong links with the construction industry and all lecturers have worked extensively within it in a variety of roles, bringing real-world experience to the programmes that they teach.
Kendal College has an outstanding brand new, purpose built Construction and Heritage Centre, on the college's main site, built as part of its £12.9 million new build programme. The centre has state of the art facilities for brickwork, plastering, plumbing, electrical engineering, stone craft and heritage skills, painting and decorating.
