Unemployed for less than six months?
If you have been unemployed for six months, are at risk of, or have recently been made redundant, we can provide you with industry-led qualifications that help to support and upskill you, giving you new and improved opportunities. Courses include First Aid, Health and Safety, Food Safety, IT and Team Leading courses
Unemployed for more than six months?
We deliver courses that are designed to develop your employability skills and further your knowledge of the jobs market. We also deliver industry-led qualifications that help to support and upskill you in preparation for applying for jobs.
Employed, but want to improve your skills and qualifications?
Short work-related training courses to help you improve English, Maths and IT and sector-specific training. Learn new skills that will help you in your current job or develop in other areas of your workplace.
Come along to one of our WorkClubs and get free and friendly advice on how to get that job. We can help with everything from support with applying for jobs and interview preparation to providing training and courses. WorkClubs are held at The Lodge, Kendal Museum grounds, Station Road, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 6BT between 12-5pm.
Graduates & Apprentices
Support and assistance for skilled and high-level applicants who need help with tailoring their applications and CVs to make them shine.
The Edge, funded by the European Social Fund is a Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership project offering funded training to Cumbria businesses and their employees. If you’re a Cumbrian business employing less than 250 staff, and employees work more than 8 hours a week then you could benefit. If you are self-employed then you can also access the funded training. Funded courses will be delivered throughout the year and up to July 2018. These can be delivered in the workplace or at College or another external venue.
