Summer Schools at Kendal College

If you are aged 16-18, why not join us on one of our exciting Kendal College Summer Schools. Each Summer School runs from Monday to Friday, 10am-3pm and is completely FREE.

Photography
12-16 July 2010
This summer school course is an introduction to the creative use of photography to capture images, explore basic techniques, equipment and materials.  You will be able to use both film-based photographic methods, and the processes involved in digital photography.  You will develop ideas for your own photographic work inspired by a theme, and produce a range of creative photographic images with consideration of composition and formal photographic standards. This course relates to Units 1&2 from the BTEC Level 1 Short – Photography.

Graphics
5-9 July 2010
This summer school course is an introduction to the processes of working to a graphic design brief using digital design techniques, and software. You will be involved in the research, development and production of work in response to a theme, and the preparation of the work for presentation. A good opportunity to learn, practice and refine your skills in the use of computers for design. This course relates to Units 6&7 from the BTEC L1 Short – Graphics)

Studio Engineering
5-9 July 2010
This summer school course is designed to give you a basic understanding of sound recording techniques and technology.

The hardware and software we have at the college in our studio and our pre-production facilities is industry standard. this means that any student who is interested in knowing how to record instruments using the correct microphone techniques, use digital multi-track software, programme midi parts or anythiung else that goes into a full professional production then this is the course for you. This course relates to unit 7 from the L1 Short - Introduction to Sound Recording.
