Hello, and welcome to our website!

Just a heads-up, we're close to rolling out a shiny new website and we've had to make some changes which may affect the way our current course information is displayed. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Courses starting September. Call 01539 814700 for details.

This course is designed to equip you with the basic skills in plumbing for the mechanical service environment.

You will learn about health and safety, plumbing science, cold and hot water, central heating, sanitation and other subjects related to the industry.

On the Level 3 programme you will study more advanced subjects such as gas installation.

All of our learners will be given support with their English and Maths skills where relevant to their main programme. Those students who have not yet achieved a ‘C’ grade at GCSE in these subjects will continue to work towards these important qualifications at a level suited to them.

The course has been designed to contribute to providing evidence of occupational competence for working within the plumbing mechanical service environment.

The main subjects you will take are:

11 theory units with unit assessment and end exam, including:

- Health and Safety
- Plumbing Science
- Cold and hot water
- Central heating
- Sanitation
- Sheet lead

Continual assessment of both theoretical and practical work - assessment is based on candidates showing what they can do.

Practical assessment is a portfolio of assessment projects that need completing. These use a range of materials including copper, steel, sheet lead and plastics.

All exams are online multiple choice questions.

This course will be part of a wider study programme, which may also include english & maths, work placement and additional studies.

How will I be assessed?
