On the A-Level Physics course, you will study for 4 hours per week. You will complete the AS-Level in the first year and the A2 in the second to form a full A Level.
The course includes a wide range of topics in Physics and will be taught through theory sessions, practical activities, learning games and online activities.
The course can be taken in the following ways:
- Within KC Sixth with another two, possibly three A-Levels, tutorial and optional EPQ and Core maths
- As an ‘add on’ to a Full Time Level 3 Study Programme at the College, for example alongside a BTEC Extended Diploma
- As a stand-alone part-time course
How will I be assessed?
A-Level Physics is an enabling qualification for a wide range of science and engineering degree courses and careers. This in turn leads on to the wide range of career opportunities including non-scientific careers where skills in reasoning and mathematics are valued, such as business, accountancy and finance.
Physics requires a student who is willing to ask questions, apply reasoning and logic to problems, is deeply interested in finding out about the world around them and not afraid of quite a bit of maths!
The entry requirements for this course are:
5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above (A*-C) which must include English Language.
GCSE Maths at Grade 6 (or B) and GCSE Physics at Grade 6 (or B) or BB Double Science.
If you would like to apply for the full-time package (3-4 AS-Levels) please complete a full-time application form.
