Hello, and welcome to our website!

Just a heads-up, we're close to rolling out a shiny new website and we've had to make some changes which may affect the way our current course information is displayed. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Monday Makers: Open Engineering Workshop

Call Student Services on 01539 814700 for information.
18:00 - 21:00

The aim of this course is to offer an opportunity to employees and/or enthusiasts to pursue projects or update skills using our state-of-the-art engineering facilities, including CAD, CNC machines, CAM software and conventional lathes and mills.

Monday Makers is a space where anyone can create, make and mend. Artists, artisans and engineers all share an impulse to create whether that is a sculpture or a stub axle, we are happy to help your abstract idea become an actual object. If you want to explore digital engineering, modelling, 3D printing or CNC machining there are people who can demystify this process and help you make your part.

If you are part of a company that wants to do R & D or short runs without effecting current production runs we can help with that as well.

From circuit bent instruments to bike components, from industrial equipment to art pieces, from vintage motorcycle parts to wireless systems we have made them all!

This is project based in a supportive workshop environment rather than formal taught sessions.

We ask for a contribution of 10 pounds per session towards materials.

How will I be assessed?

Training for apprentices is free for all ages. However, if you hold a full Level 4 qualification (or higher) you will not be eligible for apprenticeship funding. Alternative funding options may be available. Please call 01539 814713 or email apprenticeships@kendal.ac.uk for information.
