The fashion and clothing course is ideal for those who wish to gain a formal qualification and practical experience working with fashion design and manufacture for entry to further study.

Learning Styles:
Taught elements, demonstrations and hands on practical tasks.

Personal Study:
This course will involve some personal study outside the class, including research.

You will acheive a BTEC Level 1 Award in Fashion & Clothing.

This course is designed to provide a body of knowledge working with machine stitch, pattern cutting and embellishment, enabling you to translate design drawings and patterns into accomplished items of clothing.

You will be assessed at a Pass, Merit and Distinction level.

There is no formal examination element to this course. You will be assessed via a portfolio of work produced throughout the course. You will develop a portfolio of work which will include mood boards, design worksheets, fashion illustrations, textile and stitch samples, and sketchbook evidence of the creation of your final garment.
