The course will include a variety of activities aimed at developing reading, writing, grammar & vocabulary and speaking & listening skills.

There are separate classes for each level: Entry Level 1, Entry Level 2, and Entry Level 3; and Levels 1 and 2.

Each course consists of three follow-on units running for three hours on one day per week in class (total of 99 hours).

You will develop your English language skills to be able to actively participate in society on a day to day basis and specific language skills that will assist you in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

Examinations are optional this year. For those who wish:

There will be a formal Cambridge Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life examination at the end of each unit with all four skills being assessed by the end of each course:

Unit 1 - Reading: one written paper

Unit 2 - Speaking Listening: live paired interview and listening test

Unit 3 - Writing: one written paper

If you don’t want to complete the exam, please contact Student Services as the fee will be lower to reflect this.
