On completion, students will acheive a Level 1 BTEC Award in Art & Design.

Graham Watson will be teaching this course, the 15 week course will include up to 8 weeks spent on tutor led workshops, these will be more advanced and challenging than the Introduction course to develop a higher level of skill and technical understanding.

What will I learn?

The course will allow for the opportunity to develop printmaking, drawing, collage, digital image manipulation, textile and painting skills. The course will enable you to specialise in any medium or move between and/or combine media of your choice.

You will be given the opportunity towards the end of the course to develop an outcome using a project theme provided. This will involve research, experimentation with media, revisiting techniques they have enjoyed to produce and evaluate a final piece of artwork.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed at a Pass, Merit and Distinction level.

There is no formal examination element to this course. You will be assessed via a portfolio of work produced throughout the course. This will include loose drawings, sketchbook work and a written evaluation.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. We would expect you to have some experience within Art and Design and be confident producing visual artwork.

All students are asked to pay a 30 pounds workshop fee, which will cover all the resources and equipment required during the course.
