The VTCT Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy Make-up is a substantial vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed beauty therapist specialising in make-up. This qualification is based on the beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) for make-up and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional bodies, The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a beauty therapist specialising in make-up.

This qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as a beauty therapist specialising in make-up. Throughout this qualification you will ensure responsibility to reduce risks to health and safety, promote additional services or products to clients, develop and maintain your effectiveness at work, provide facial skin care treatments, enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes, provide make-up services and instruct clients in the use and application of skin care products and make-up.

VTCT qualifications are assessed and quality assured by centre staff. Work will be set to improve your practical skills, knowledge and understanding. For practical elements, you will be observed by your assessor. Test papers and assignments will also be included in some units of your course. All your work must be collected in a portfolio of evidence and cross-referenced to requirements listed in this record of assessment book.

All of our learners will be given support with their English and Maths skills where relevant to their main programme. Those students who have not yet achieved a Grade 4 (C) at GCSE in these subjects will continue to work towards these important qualifications at a level suited to them.

This course will be part of a wider study programme, which may also include english & maths, work placement and additional studies.
