This short course will introduce you to Adobe Lightroom software (a user friendly Photoshop), which enables you to prepare your photos for print and other media.
The course will outline the tools, techniques and workflow of Lightroom. Each session will focus on the individual modules and reveal why Lightroom is now the industry choice for digital imaging.
What will I learn?
Lightroom is really about managing the three basic tasks of managing, processing and sharing our digital images. Four sessions will address how each module is tailored to the specific tasks of digital workflow. Importing, exporting images; file organisation and library tasks like keywording and file naming; working with collections and folders, the fundamental tasks of image editing and development; and an overview of the print, web and slideshow modules to share images
How will I be assessed?
This is a non-qualification, full cost, skills course designed to meet the needs of photographers who need to understand and use Lightroom effectively in a short timescale. Students will be given continuous feedback and one-to-one tutorial time to ensure effective learning. All software (Adobe Lightroom 5) and computers (MacBook pro) are provided and students will be encouraged to work with their own digital RAW or Jpeg files.
Lightroom is a professional digital imaging workflow package that will be an asset to all photographers new to this software, either in industry or as a creative leisure pursuit.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Students should be existing digital photographers using their own RAW or Jpeg files and should be familiar with the normal skills of downloading camera files to a computer.
